The V8's are a fabulous opportunity for New Zealand to host an international motor sport. Pukekohoe is too old, Auckland is too congested, but Wellington is just perfect. With excellent public transport to get into the city and such an easy city to get around on foot, it is ideal. It wouldn't interrupt peoples ability to get to work and yet it would provide excellent business opportunities for our capital city to make a few dollars. Wellington is a vibrant and accepting place, a place that WANTS this race, yet the resource consent process in the RMA has halted this progress.

As this could cost up to a million dollars to Wellington City Council, this petition recommends that the government fund the resource consent process, given the value that the v8's will have for the country as a whole. It would also be recommended that the government helps with the acceleration of the RMA process.

This is just to say, go Kerry, our support is with you, you are the best spokesperson for this and we know that you can get this through on time. So why not give it a go?
