Xabi Alonso to stay at Liverpool

Dear Rafael Benitez and Liverpool Board,

We the undersigned, through this letter ask you to keep Xabi Alonso at Liverpool Football Club. For the Following reasons.

Xabi Alonso is the pacemaker of the current team, dictating rhythm, distributing the ball, and controling the centre. This is evident are when Alonso was injured the team dropped 24 points in the league and when he wasn't injured it was half that amount. The team's return to form at the end of the season coincided with Alonso's return from injury.

He appears to be currently returning to form, as evident from the European Championships, where his presence shored up defense and calmed the Spanish team.

He wants to stay at Anfield as he has stated numerous times.

Xabi is the seasoned professional, a Champions League winner, FA cup winner, and a European Champion.

Selling Xabi for 16 million would be a catastrophic mistake. Selling Xabi for to fund Barry is suicide.

With Xabi Alonso's european experience, Liverpool can hope to go all the way in the Champions League again, without Xabi, one can only hope that Liverpool don't get to face Juventus and have Xabi on the other end of the field.
