YouTube, Stop Religious Discrimination |
Warfareofspirit's preachthewords account has been suspended. He created the account DCDude777 to fill the void. However, after a particularly vicious video outright slandering the user tannhaus, he was informed tannhaus was potentially taking legal action and issued a retraction and apology, admitting the false flagging campaign against tannhaus. His video doing so is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKxaO6rqbDM However, tannhaus's account still has the two flags even though the content did not violate the community guidelines and warfareofspirit/DCDude777/OliviaScripture admits he orchestrated a false flagging campaign and claims he contacted YouTube admitting it to them. Here is one place he informed about the false flagging campaign and attacked a homosexual person as well: http://www.youtube.com/comment_servlet?all_comments&v=Ww3QHeuAXGU
To: YouTubeWe, users of YouTube, have become increasingly concerned about YouTube's actions concerning the flagging of videos as of late. Whether intentionally or not, YouTube has been lax holding fundamentalist Christians to the YouTube community guidelines. They have been allowed to attack the pagan community on YouTube, individually and as a whole, with little to no action from YouTube, even when their videos are repeatedly flagged and their actions are repeatedly reported to YouTube.
These attacks have been quite vicious and are becoming increasingly so. Not only are the attacks directed to the YouTube users themselves, but also to their children. One user who has three known accounts on YouTube, all of them featuring his face in the videos so there is no doubt, has been able to start a flagging campaign to accomplish a purpose he had stated on his profiles as well as in his videos: to "rid" the YouTube community of all Pagans, Wiccans, and Satanists. In addition, he posts videos attacking the faiths of pagans on YouTube and attacks them with all of his accounts in their comments to their videos. That user has the known accounts of warfareofspirit, oliviascripture, and preachthewords.
Another, who blatantly violates YouTube's community guidelines and has never been forced to abide is wwwshockawenowcom, who was originally shockawenow, but after being banned, created another account which was also banned and has moved from there - each time being able to receive three flags, even though creating another account to evade a ban is against YouTube's community guidelines.
In contrast, YouTube users like tannhaus, a victim of warfareofspirit's illegal flagging campaign, has done nothing to violate the YouTube community guidelines, yet his account is suspended and one video "My Thoughts on God" has been set 18+ even though it contains his personal ideas on God's nature and contains not a single thing that is not inappropriate for ALL ages. He is documenting the religious discrimination against him at http://www.moderngnosis.org/the-youtube-situation.
We would ask that YouTube stop the religious discrimination running rampant on YouTube. We would ask that they hold fundamentalist Christians to the same standards they hold others to and investigate flags fully before disabling any video. We believe that all users should be able to use YouTube without fear of losing their channels because of their religious beliefs.
In short, we ask that YouTube reinstate tannhaus and remove all flags to his videos. We would ask that they permanently ban warfareofspirit and his two duplicate accounts: preachthewords and oliviascripture for a blatant campaign of religious discrimination and harassment. We would also ask that wwwshockawenowcom be permanently banned for evading his suspensions and bans. We also ask for greater scrutiny of flagged videos and a clearly laid-out appeals channel so that this behavior is not allowed to continue in the future. In addition, we ask that users who are clearly discriminating against others on basis of religion in their flagging be banned from YouTube.
YouTube, we ask that you stop the religious discrimination rampant on your website.Sincerely,
