Save the Abbey Road Wall for Beatles Fans |
To: Westminster CouncilI implore Westminster Council to once again allow Beatles fans to write messages on the perimeter wall of Abbey Road Studios, no 3 Abbey Road.
Beatles fans have been coming to the Studios for decades – many see it as a pilgrimage. It has been a tradition for fans to write messages, or even draw pictures, on the wall. Many poignant messages were written there after the death of George Harrison in 2001, when the wall was turned into a shrine.
However, the council is now painting the wall as soon as any messages appear.
We the undersigned ask Westminster City Council to reverse their policy and allow fans to write on the Abbey Road perimeter wall.
Sincerely,
