Fund Alberta Midwives

To:  Government of Alberta

We believe that everyone has the right to the health care provider of their choice, regardless of financial means. We believe that by not fully funding midwives as autonomous care providers, the province of Alberta is denying women right self-determination in health care.

We further believe that by fully funding midwives and increasing access to them across the province, pregancy related costs will decrease. We believe that midwives provide efficient, safe and cost effective services and that the reduction in costs for hospital stays and surgeries will more than cover the costs of funding midwives in Alberta.
