abolish the Livestock Health and Pest Authorities

PREAMBLE

Currently in New South wales we have a discriminatory rural land rating system. That is if you have under 10 hectares of land you don't have to pay rates to the Livestock Health and Pest Authorities over 10 hectares you do. Not only is this unfair - it is also unConstitutional! (Chapter 1, Part 5 - Powers of the Parliament, Section 51 part II) - "The Parliament shall, subject to this Constitution, have power to make laws for the peace, order, and good government of the Commonwealth with respect to Taxation; but so as not to discriminate between States or parts of States."

PETITION

TO THE HONOURABLE THE SPEAKER AND MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ASSEMBLED IN PARLIAMENT:

The petition of residents of the State of New South Wales request the House to initiate the immediate abolishment of the organisation known as the Livestock Health and Pest Authorities (previously the Rural Lands Protection Board), further that the Hon minister Ian Macdonald be required to resign over misleading constituents on the nature of Rural Land Rates increases.
