Thug rialtas na Breataine gealltanas i ndoiciméad Chill Rímhinn, Acht na Gaeilge a reachtú ag Westminster. Tá POBAL i ndiaidh próiseas comhairliúchain dhá bhliain a chur i gcrích le pobal na Gaeilge agus le saineolaithe idirnáisiúnta dlí, agus d’fhoilsigh muid moltaí aontaithe ar Acht na Gaeilge i bhFeabhra 2006.


Tacaíonn muidne, sínitheoirí na h-achainí seo, le reachtú Acht na Gaeilge ag Westminster, bunaithe ar mholtaí aontaithe POBAL le haghaidh Acht na Gaeilge ceartasach cuimsitheach.

The British government has given a commitment, through the St Andrew’s Agreement, to enact an Irish Language Act at Westminster. POBAL has consulted for 2 years with the Irish speaking community and with international legal experts and has published agreed proposals on an Irish Language Act in February 2006.

We, the undersigned, support the enactment of an Irish Language Act at Westminster, based on POBAL’s agreed proposals published for a rights-based, comprehensive Irish Language Act.
