Protect the Health of New Jersey Casino Workers

To:  City Council of Atlantic City New Jersey

In April, you voted unamimously to eliminate toxic smoke from the casino workplaces in Atlantic City. That was wise:

You know that second hand smoke causes serious health damage. You saw that the 75/25 smoking law didn't work, and that many employees were forced into polluted smoking sections against their will, despite promises from casino management.

You know that bars and restaurants around the world feard that Clean Indoor Laws would spell their doom. It did not happen.

You know that smoke-free casinos in Delaware had a dip during a bad weather winter but have recovered. Smoke-free Racinos in New York are drawing thousands of customers and are expanding.

You know that the vast majority of gamblers DO NOT SMOKE. And most smokers respect the rights of non-smokers.

You know that eliminating hazards from the workplace is the right thing to do.

KEEP THE PROMISE for smoke free casinos.
