Petition to Abolish the H-1B Visa Program

To:  H1-B Visas

1) We the people of the United States believe H1-B visas should be abolished immediately.

2) We the people of the United States believe Immigration and Visa reform should begin immediately.

3) We the people of the United States believe that the removal of H1-B visas will have a positive impact on the Nation's slowing economy.

:::H1-B FACTS:::

1) H-1B is one of many temporary nonimmigrant worker visa bills that allows companies in the United States to hire foreign workers.

2) In the year 2001 over 195,000 more of these workers will be allowed into The United States. More than 671,000 H-1B workers will be employed in the U.S. by the end of 2001.

3) H-1B is used to import workers for jobs that American employers claim can't be filled in the "tight American labor market".

4) Other visas such as H-2A and H-2B visas are being used to bring in blue collar and agricultural workers and J-1 visas are now being used by educational and governmental institutions to bring in foreign workers. TN (NAFTA) visas are used to bring in Canadian and Mexican citizens to work in the United States.
