By signing this petition I affirm that I would like marijuana to be legalized in the United States of America for personal use.

Marijuana has many good purposes and uses. Compared to legal products such as tobacco and alcohol the dangers of marijuana are incomparable. No one has ever overdosed on this "drug" it has no serious physical or mental side effects where as other products the government allows to sell could be very harmful if not deadly. The government also spends billions of dollars annually to stop marijuana from getting into the country. If this money was used to control the amount imported and used rather than ban the drug, many issues would be eliminated from the U.S.A such as illegal drug sale, and drug related crimes and gang problems. Former presidents have grown hemp and cannabis in their own backyards. If the government allowed marijuana into the country the government would not only prosper in its economy but problems such as inflation and illegal drug dealing would be eliminated since drug dealers would have no purpose and money used towards marijuana will go into the governments hands rather then an illegal seller.
