At the tender age of 26, Alex is already an eight year major league baseball veteran. Since being the number 1 draft choice of the Seattle Mariners in the 1993, Alex has been named MLB Player of the Year, been one of three players in the history of the of major league baseball to hit 40 homeruns and steal 40 bases in one baseball season, and has won numerous Silver Slugger awards. Alex Rodriguez is also a perennial all-star, as well as a Batting Title champion. And during the 2001 season, Alex Rodriguez set the single season record for home runs in a single season for shortstops, breaking a record previously held by the legendary hall-of-famer Ernie Banks.

When Alex Rodriguez is not busy setting a new standard for shortstops, he is deeply involved with several charities -- including the Boys and Girls Club of America, as well as his own charity, Grand Slam for Kids.
