We, the undersigned, vehemently protest your current scheduling of the show Alias and implore you to reconsider its timeslot. 5:30pm is clearly not a suitable time during which to air this programme as you have been forced to make significant cuts to each episode, totalling as much as seven minutes. Even the credit sequence has to be edited, which speaks volumes about your decision to put Alias on at such an inappropriate hour.
We also feel that you have seriously misjudged the audience of this show. As fans of Alias we are dismayed at the editing which is ruining this acclaimed and award-winning programme. It airs at 9pm/8C in the USA which clearly shows that it is targeted at older viewers. The content of Alias both in terms of its graphic violence and narrative is not aimed at a younger audience, even though it seems that you are trying to cater for them with this slot. This is not an audience demographic to which the show is directed at in America, and it is clearly not a demographic to which it should be directed in the UK. The amount of editing you have to do simply proves this fact.
In conclusion, we are asking you to air the show at a sensible time that does not require any cuts to be made thus catering to the target audience and fans of the show itself. Later episodes will undoubtedly contain significant amounts of violence and may have to be cancelled altogether. Please dont ruin such an excellent programme like this.
