To:  North Carolina House and South Carolina House

Whereas the cost of fuel and travel has gone up considerably, plus in the interest of public health and happiness, we are purposing a performers tax credit on motor fuel for entertainers that are touring across North Carolina (primary), South Carolina (secondary) and if possible, the entire United States. The tax credit would include musicians from all countries that are flying, traveling or entering either state by coach, plane or train.

The tax credit would be refunded quarterly, either through the performance artist's company or personal tax statements. We are proposing that a relief of one half the state tax and one half the federal tax, minus the environmental tax fee, be forwarded to applying performers as a credit for fuel tax paid while traveling within or into either respective state. Tax credit will be based off submission of receipt of travel/motor fuel taxes paid to either state's Department of Revenue.

In the interest of increased tourism to the Carolinas, and to the benefit of the states, this Performers Motor Fuel Tax Credit should be applied diligently.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
