We are grossly shocked and dismayed with the increasing amount of animal cruelty videos that are being approved for display on the YouTube website.
According to YouTube's community guidelines, the following directions are given regarding content that is deemed inappropriate:
"Don't post videos showing bad stuff like animal abuse, drug abuse, or bomb making."
"Graphic or gratuitous violence is not allowed. If your video shows someone getting hurt, attacked, or humiliated, don't post it."
"YouTube is not a shock site. Don't post gross-out videos of accidents, dead bodies and similar things."
So paying attention to the following representative examples:
Videos of domestic animals being eaten alive:

Videos of domestic animals being mistreated (for entertainment):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_44tsmFrmk
http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=6xnVfTVfrLA
We ask that YouTube screen its content more carefully and stop the display of videos on its website that depict gratuitous acts of violence against animals.
