As a member of the Washington Redskins, Art Monk broke the mark for most catches in a season (106 in '84), shattered the record for most catches in a career (passing Steve Largent in '92) and set the standard for most consecutive games with a catch (164 straight). The man won three Super Bowls and went to three Pro Bowls. It's rumored that he never dropped a pass, and it's a fact that he played with dignity and class.
While similar (or perhaps lesser) receivers such as James Lofton, Charlie Joiner, Lynn Swann and John Stallworth reside in the cozy confines of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, it's Monk who has been shut out by the selection committee every year since becoming eligible in '01. It's time to right a wrong. As Redskins fans, as football fans, we implore you to support ElectArtMonk.com and it's mission to get #81 into the place he so rightfully deserves.
