The members of Aspies for Freedom are asking for signatures for this petition to give Cure Autism Now an important message from those with autism and aspergers around the world, who believe that the negative terminology and images portrayed by Cure Autism Now have a damaging affect on the lives of those on the autistic spectrum.
Adults with autism can speak for themselves and say that we are not diseased and dont require curing by CAN, we should be accepted for who we are.
Their use of the term "epidemic" to describe autism is insulting to many of us, we have the right to be respected as individuals.
