Lavandeira Transphobia

Mario Lavandeira (a.k.a. Perez Hilton) has had a history of being trans-phobic and openly hostile to members of a community that Lavandeira is apart of. It would make complete sense if Lavandeira didn’t use members of the LGBT community to benefit his own pocketbook since he has openly worked for LGBT organizations like GLADD, but Lavandeira continues to use LGBT status as an insult. One example is how he refers to Lindsay Lohan as “LezLo”. He thereby erases the possibility that she is bisexual completely erasing bisexual identity.

His main issue is that he continuously uses trans identity as the ultimate insult. He has referenced Samantha Ronson’s masculinity by calling her saMANtha, made references to Brooke Hogan being a “tranny”, calling Eddie Murphy a “tranny chaser” and recently made a reference to Khloe Kardashian being a “shim”. Lavandeira needs to acknowledge that he is wrong for using those kinds of statements. We as a community need to support one another, and he is actually using communal identity to bring heterosexual readership, and further his own economic agenda. This petition will hopefully garner an apology as well as a possible reformation of the way he insults people.
