Dear Sir,

We, the undersigned, are petitioning your office to revisit the decision of our county commissioners to raise our taxes in the unincorporated areas of the Iron County 100\%. This tax is unfair as it provides no services to those being taxed. Additionally, this tax has been deemed to be a misinterpretation of the original meaning of the state mandate, Utah Code section 17.34.1, as set fourth by Rep Mike Morley, R-Spanish Fork, that wrote and moved that legislation to law. Respectfully we request that your office review the actions of our commissioners with the possibility that such a tax be placed before the citizens of Iron County to be voted upon. We ask this as the commissioners seem to have been so faultily inflated, as to make the proposed tax burdensome and unbearable to many of the citizens in this county, especially those on a fixed income. We would also respectfully request that the accessed value of the county properties be brought in line with the reality of true values in the current market place. Further, those being taxed will receive no benefits from this new Tax. Moreover, these same residents are receiving little to no county services currently.

Thank you for your time and consideration on this matter.

The Citizens of Iron County
