Baby P died at the hands of his mother and her boyfriend after social workers failed to spot that he was being abused, despite the fact they had visited the child at home 60 times in the eight months before his death. He had been allowed to say with his mother and died in his cot August 2007, with multiple injuries including a broken spine.

The child's mother, 27, her boyfriend, 32, and their lodger, Jason Owen, 36, were convicted at the Old Bailey on Tuesday of causing or allowing his death, but cleared of murder. They will be sentenced on December 15.

This petition is not intended to condemn those members of Haringey's Children department who failed to save the life of this innocent baby. It is intended to call out a 'justice' system who fails to find his abusers and torturers guilty of anything other than murder.
His mother, her boyfriend and their lodger are convicted of CAUSING OR ALLOWING HIS DEATH. It is our opinion that this is not enough. A heavier conviction MUST be demanded, and a sentence worthy of such a brutal crime be placed upon these people.
In his last 8 months of life, Baby P knew nothing but pain and fear, from those who ought to have loved and cared for him most. He died all alone in his cot, suffering from a broken back and bleeding around the spine. Had he been able to speak out, to cry for help, to tell SOMEONE what was happening to him... would the convictions then have fitted the crime?
This is not a time for silence.
To the Government of the United Kingdom, we submit this petition, in the hopes of conveying a worldwide consensus and strength of feeling.
This is not enough.
