Ban Advertisements which are against Indian women development and portray them in a bad taste |
To: President of IndiaTo: Indian public, Women activists of India, The National Commission for Women in India, Ad companies, various TV channels in India,
various media control authorities in India, President of India.
Many advertisements in India depict women in a very bad taste,
showing no one cares about real women development in the Indian society.
I request all to do the needful to make such current ad be off the air and no such future advertisements are made.
Iam citing some examples of very bad taste advertisements below.
I happened to see a ad recently of Harpic toilet cleaner.
Actor Abbas comes as a Harpic sales representative, tells the lady of the house if she wants to gift her husband and family with a new toilet as gift.
He is sales person/promoter for the product and he should be making the demo
by cleaning the toilet. But he doesn't. The lady does.
In the evening, she is praised by her husband for a clean toilet,
which seems to be her goal and makes her happy.
The ad seems to convey message
"cleaning the toilet is one of the sole responsibility for the women only"
Many of the Axe ad (especially the chocolate flavor) seem to portray women in a mean way.
Sincerely,
