America, and the rest of the world, was rapt in a moment of unity as we witnessed a helium balloon soar in the skies of Colorado on October 15, 2009, as we hoped and prayed for Falcon Heene, a little boy who was thought to be on board. However, the relief of knowing that Falcon had been safe and sound on solid ground for the entire duration of the balloon flight has soured into disbelief and disappointment as allegations emerged that the entire incident had been staged "for a show."
We can scarcely afford to let such good feelings go to waste at a time when our world is in a state of grave disunity and conflict. That law enforcement agencies at every level of government in Colorado are now seeking to lay charges on those responsible for the balloon incident will no doubt merely exacerbate the bitterness. Can we find a way to overcome our differences? Yes we can! The Heene family has shown the way: let us take it again.
We ask that Richard and Mayumi Heene, parents of Falcon Heene, participate in an untethered balloon journey in their homemade balloon that had been previously believed to hold Falcon on October 15. This balloon ride shall be televised by all major television networks. Law enforcement agencies of all levels would then cease efforts to lay charges on those responsible for the balloon incident of October 15.
Reconciliation: the sky's the limit!
