Make Bank Charges Fair!! |
To: The Prime Minister of the United KingdomBanks and Building Societies in the UK routinely charge customers if their account goes overdrawn past an agreed limit. This can happen for reasons as paltry as the bank charging interest of £1.00 but for many others too.
This petition is to gather support for the proposal that Banks in the UK should be forced by law to give their customers reasonable notice that this is going to happen thereby giving them (the customers) a chance to balance their books before getting charged and having their finances messed around even more. The reason behind this concept is that millions of us are struggling financially at the moment.
In this era of the public bailing out banks to the tune of billions of pounds at a time I think this notion should be law and that nearly all standard bank charges should be scrapped or reduced to a nominal level. They are supposed to make money by investing anyway, not charging the hell out of their customers.Sincerely,
