Recently the province of Quebec banned the use of Right hand drive cars in its province, needless to say this is going to greatly affect automotive enthusiasts, in not only Quebec but threatens to spread to other parts of the country as well. Current owners of right hand drive cars will most likely be under constant harassment by police for a car that was grandfathered in, as was as others who drive into Quebec in right hand drive cars, and being a fairly popular racing series is based in Quebec and it draws a lot of right hand drive cars from Ontario this will be bad for them and likely discourage right hand drive car owners who live in Ontario from joining this racing series events in Quebec, thus effecting the tourism for the province. Furthermore this of course will take away police forces for more important matters if they pull a right hand drive car only for the sake that it is right hand drive.
On top of this affecting car enthusiasts in the province and country this will affect those whose businesses are solely the import and sale of right hand drive cars, and in these tough economic times it will surely affect them greatly as well as their families as they struggle to get new employment, being that Quebec is one of, if not the most popular place for right hand drive cars to be imported to, this will likely be a bigger problem than initially thought. Importers will most likely move to Ontario costing them greatly in the move to another province as well as the cost of a longer car transport.
There exists no concrete evidence of right hand drive cars being more dangerous then left hand drive, the sole danger in these cars is a driver who might not be responsible enough to own a car of that type, but that can be said for any vehicle, in fact an owner of a right hand drive car is likely to be more cautious with said car being that they likely own a right hand drive car since they are an enthusiast and will take special care to make sure their investment is not harmed by a careless mistake. Surely those who care for this cause wouldn't have an issue with having to care a special license for a right hand drive car if that would mean we are allowed to import, own and drive them.
If you wish to help try and reverse this decision please take the time to sign and hopefully leave and comment, be respectful in any comments you leave, pure anger will not favour our plea.
