Retain American Mining Jobs |
To: U.S. Senators Max Baucus (D), and Jon Tester (D)"We, the People" of Montana, as well as citizens across the entire United States, want to express our strong opposition to General Motors Corporation (the automaker) for petitioning the bankruptcy court to reject their existing contract(s) for palladium (and/or other PMG metals) between GMC and Stillwater Mining Company.
The United States government, which is a majority shareholder in GMC, should not allow GMC to cancel contracts with a U.S. producer (Stillwater Mining Co), yet retain contracts with Russian and South African precious metal producers for the same metal product(s). Especially when you consider that GMC has taken billions of dollars of American taxpayer money in "bailouts".
It is outrageous that GMC is willing to send American taxpayer dollars to foreign entities, while Stillwater Mining Company struggles to maintain their operations here in the United States. This is an affront to every hard working Montanan, as well as every other American.
As U.S. Senators, if you do not exert your utmost influence to change this decision, "We, the People" of Montana will effect a change in our Senate representation in Washington DC.Sincerely,
