Scrap the Gorshkov Deal

To:  Defense Minister of India, PM of India, President of India and all those involved in the Gorshkov Aircraft Carrier Deal with Russia

This Petition is addressed to the Defense Minister of India, PM of India, President of India and all those involved in the Gorshkov Aircraft Carrier Deal with Russia to stop submitting themselves and Indian people to unprofessional and bullying demands of Russian authorities over this deal and price involved.
There have been various issues with the Gorshkov deal in the past including questions about the cost-benefit comparison between an old-renovated Aircraft carrier from Russia and a Home Built Aircraft Carrier and then the shifting of Goal posts by Russia on various issues and addition of cost for every simple thing Indian defence asked for.
Now recently, the price has again been hiked and this time it is whopping $1.2 Billion. (ref: http://www.rediff.com/news/2008/apr/30ship.htm)
Why should a country ask for money just months before the delivery of Aircraft-Carrier is pending? It is blackmailing as India has already paid a lot of money to them upfront. Russians think they are smart enough to take Indian money by this blackmail activity.

Why should India always trust foreign technology and ignore the Indian Talent? Why do we have Shipyards built in various parts of India (including the modern ones in Vizag) when we have to purchase the obsolete ships from failed power like Russia? Why not donate these billions to people below poverty line in the form of resources for earnings and education? Why not build more IITs and hire professors from US for the same using the $1.2 Bn in question?
While People of India ask these questions, I request all Indians and citizens of the world to come together and by putting signature in this petition, lodge your protest and opinion against the potential payment for a bad deal in the form of this ship.
