Remaster The Beatles!

To:  Apple Corps. Ltd., Parlophone Records, EMI Records, and Capitol Records

We, the undersigned, agree that remastered versions of the Beatles' albums are way overdue. It's time for a skilled engineer to go back to the original master tapes and give the world beautifully-mastered Beatles compact discs.

All songs, whether they're in mono or stereo, should come from the first-generation tapes. The Beatles deserve no less.

As for the packaging - we want what was on the original LPs replicated, plus new liner notes, pictures; etc., preferably by Mark Lewisohn. With the exception of the 20th anniversary edition of Sgt. Pepper, it looks like very little thought was given to packaging when the Beatles catalog was first issued on CD in 1987.

The bottom line is that the music of the Beatles deserves way better than the subpar, generic presentation they're currently being given on CD and something needs to be done about that quickly.
