Research Skatepark

To:  Nillumbik Council

We hereby present this petition to the Nillumbik Shire Council, requesting that you provide the local youth of Research with a community “Skate park/Bmx park.” Research and its surrounding areas such as Nth Warrandyte, Panton Hill and even as far as St Andrews have nothing to offer for recreational use to the growing young community. Riding bicycles/Skateboards are rapidly growing sports and are almost as popular as mainstream sports such as basketball and football. Riding bicycles and Skateboards gives the youth of today an alternate sport and also helps keep kids occupied with something to strive for rather than getting in trouble and breaking laws.
We the signed citizens agree that the community of Research and its surroundings should have a community “Skate park/Bmx park.”
