We ask that you please insist to the screenplay writers and directors to keep the movie as similar to the book as possible. The reason producers make movies out of books is because of the huge fan base that is almost sure to transfer. Many books have been ruined by films that inaccurately portray the novel. If in your book, a scene takes place in a car, don't let it be filmed in a forest. Don't let the script betray the characters by allowing words like "spider-monkey" be said by 108 year old characters. For the fans, this is horrifying, and you, the author, will make your money either way. So please, don't your supporters down by bastardizing the novel we love. Protect your best-seller.
