Boycott Virginia

To:  VA CTB, Truck driver service providers

The Commonwealth Transportation Board of Virginia recently decided to close 19 of its 42 rest areas. They also have decided to implement a "no overnight parking" ban at the remaining rest areas. The state of Virginia already has an acute lack of truck parking problem. This will make our highways unsafe. Many truck stops are completely full in the state by 7-8 PM.

In order to bring attention to our situation, we feel a complete economic boycott of the state of Virginia is required. This includes:

- All fuel and food purchases at truck stops or other locations
- No staying at hotels, motels, or inns
- No picking up, nor dropping off any freight within the state
- "emergency only" repairs at repair shops
- No equipment purchases within the state, including trucks and trailers
- Boycott of all trucks produced at the Volvo Dublin, VA plant

Once this petition reaches an acceptable amount of signatures, it will be submitted to all retail locations that could possibly serve truck drivers.
