Blu-Ray Disc: Content Movement

Now that the media format war between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD has been waged, and won by Blu-Ray, we the consumers ask that the studios and DVD labels offer the best possible content available to them on future Blu-Ray Disc releases.

For years consumers have paid exorbitant prices for DVD releases that often feature nothing more than a film and an occasional trailer. The days of limited disc capacity are relatively gone. Blu-Ray Disc technology holds five times what basic DVDs do and, therefore, we once again cordially ask that studios and DVD labels carefully consider this and attempt to offer more for the consumer's money.

In July of 2007, Sony released The Fifth Element to Blu-Ray Disc and consumer complaints that the feature film's quality was lacking. The film was soon re-mastered and re-released by Sony but, much to the chagrin of consumers, the Blu-Ray release offered consumers no extra material. Why not offer the ENTIRE 2-Disc DVD special edition on one Blu-Ray Disc?

Why has this superior format been chosen if not to offer consumers MORE for their money and entertainment? Shouldn't consumers expect more for their dollar and from this technology than what's currently being offered? Aren't consumers important to you?

This petition is to show you, studios and DVD labels, that consumers are united on this issue and fully expect to see improvements and positive results. Thank you.
