This petition is to ask Fanfiction.net to lift the ban on script formatted stories. Many writers that post at your site utilize script format for humor or parody works or fanfiction screenplays and wish you to recognize that it is a valid form of expression. Movies, Television shows, Comic Books, Mangas, Animes and Video games are all created from scripts. Almost every category in your site is based on a fandom that is created from scripts. By refusing to archive scripted works you are not only penalizing those who have dreams and aspirations of becoming a screenwriter but you are insulting the very fandoms we have all grown to love.

We ask that you lift the ban and allow us aspiring screenwriters as well as parody/humor writers the opportunities to post our works for serious critiques. It is only fair that as fanfiction writers we have the same opportunities as the prose writers to realize our potential. The goal is to improve your writing and go on to bigger and better things. If fanfiction.net wants it community of writers to "Unleash their imaginations and free their souls" then you should give writers the choice of being able to write in script or prose. Besides is a writer who wants to be like Peter Jackson or Steven Spielberg less important then a writer who wants to be like Stephen King or J.R.R. Tolkien? We just want the opportunity to prove that script formatted stories can be just as entertaining and well written as any other type of writing.
