Brian Sweeney's position

To Whom It May Concern:

We, the undersigned, would like a meeting between Sierra Administration and the Sierra High School Leadership team to discuss alternatives to the proposed TCS coverage changes for the next school year.

We realize that TCS coverage is a district level decision that cannot be changed; however, we believe that Sierra can choose to keep Brian Sweeney’s position as it is currently, provided the staff is willing to make sacrifices elsewhere. We would like a venue whereby the voice of the Sierra High School Staff has, at the very least, been heard. If no resolution can be reached, than at least every option has been explored with the Sierra Administrations’ full knowledge of the value Brian Sweeney has played in our building.

We want more than anything to convey the value Brian Sweeney brings to our building, staff, and our students. Brian’s response time is fantastic. Regardless of position--seasoned veteran, rookie teacher, administrator, or student; regardless of the issue’s size or complexity, Brian is there quickly to resolve your issue. Brian also never solves problems at the expense of your pride. More often than not, if you are available, the problem solving is also a teaching moment, thereby growing an entire staff’s computer knowledge and skill set. Brian’s services are required several times on a daily basis to save momentary distresses from turning into catastrophic disasters. This is also the man who single-handily saved the district from certain technological embarrassment when Vice President Biden came for his visit.

In addition to all the incredible services Brian provides, he is also, by far, the school’s number one morale booster. He has created an atmosphere where staff are free to vent, relax, or momentarily escape the stresses of the job and return refreshed and ready to serve the students of Sierra High School. Brian Sweeney exemplifies positivity. Brian Sweeney exemplifies school pride. Sierra needs Brian Sweeney.
