Stop BT from disconnecting residential customers every 24 hours |
To: Bt IrelandBt Ireland broadband forcibly changes residential customers Ip addresses every 24 hours. This means that all TCP connections will be forcibly disconnected. Like MSN messenger, Irc clients, if you happen to be checking your e-mail at the time, that will disconnect and any VPN connections you have open to work will be severed.
Most servers have a feature that if you just dissapear, they will wait for you, to see if you come back, but if you try to come back on a different ip address, you wont be allowed to connect until your previous connection has timed out.
This must stop, i e-mailed BT about this, and i was told to upgrade to a business package for a fixed ip. We don't want fixed ips! we just want the connection to stay connected, and not be booted off every 24 hours!!
If you feel Bt must stop this childish behavior, sign The Petition, if we can get enough people to threaten to leave, surley bt will have to stand up and take action.Sincerely,
