As alumni of Brooklyn Technical High School, football alumni, and coaches we want to express to you our great concern for the job opening for head football coach at Brooklyn Technical High School. We are well aware of the difficulty of the current situation and we agree with the need for bold action to ensure the prosperous future of the football program. With that said it is for the following reasons that we endorse Michael C. Saunds as the next football coach of Brooklyn Technical High School:

1.) Michael is one of us, he bleeds blue and white. This is not said lightly. Brooklyn Tech Football is more about the tradition and pride of the school than anything else. The gatekeeper of that tradition must understand our values and beliefs. He/she must be able to articulate and instill these ideals into future generations of engineers. We believe that Michael has shown an ability to do this.

2) From the moment a Brooklyn Tech football player steps on the field he is held to a higher standard. This includes but is not limited to academics, behavior, and a high set of moral standards. But more importantly our football players go to and finish college. This is a distinction that separates us from not only the PSAL but high school football programs world wide. Michael has played collegiate football, coached college football, and he has earned advance level degrees. This gives him unique knowledge of college recruiting, financial aid packages, as well as scholarships and programs available to our young men who can not play collegiate football.

3.) Lastly, Michael understands football. He played college football and was an All-American. He has coached or played under the present head coach for the last eight years. In that time he has been able to see the inner-workings of the program. But more importantly he understands in order to maintain and surpass our high standards he must excel at all the things that being a Head Football Coach at Brooklyn Technical High School require. Such as but not limited to fundraising, facilitating parent involvement, facilitating alumni involvement, communicating effectively with students, players, and administrators. As well as putting a competitive team on the field.

For these reasons we ask that you appoint Michael Saunds as the next head coach of Brooklyn Technical High School.
