Demand Attorney General Lockyer Remove Anti-American Display

To:  California Attorney General Bill Lockyer

Dear Attorney General Lockyer,

Please remove the painting of the American flag in the toilet that is currently on display in your office.

It is offensive to most of the residents of California and America. Material that is offensive to most people does not belong in a government office.

Furthermore, it is desecration of the symbol that represents this country. Since the Attorney General is a public official of the government of The State of California, and by extention The United States, it is not appropriate for you to display such an exhibit.

We understand your desire not to censure political expression. However, that simply means that you would not get in the way if someone put it up on their own property. That does not mean you have to display their political expression in your office upon their request. You are well within your rights to refuse to display any display, especially one like this.

So in conclusion, we believe that this display does not belong in your office and should be removed immediately.
