The Colorado Bottle Bill

To:  Colorado Congress

I am proposing that the Bottle Bill (also known as container deposit laws) be passed and made into law in the State of Colorado. The Bottle Bill is an important part of encouraging residents of Colorado to recycle. This bill is designed to have consumers recycle carbonated and non-carbonated glass, plastic and aluminum cans and bottles (ex. soda cans) at a specific location and in exchange the consumer will receive a small momentary amount for the returned cans and bottles. The Bottle Bill has been passed in many other states (i.e. Michigan, New York, California and Delaware to name a few). This will help keep Colorado beautiful and put money back into Colorado resident's pockets.
