We, the undersigned, residents of Trent Hills and/or residents of Canada draw to the attention of the council THAT:
Damage to Campbellfords Heritage Community along Second Street with a bridge is unacceptable
Campbellfords slow and small population growth does not justify a multi-million dollar bridge
We have grave concerns about the cost of the proposed bridge which are estimates at best
Alternative traffic management strategies would cost significantly less than the proposed bridge
Trent Hills has more important priorities for our money such as a Multi-Use Recreational Facility, a CT Scanner for our hospital, and repairs to existing infrastructure including roads and bridges
Public consultation on this issue has been wholly inadequate
We have repeatedly studied bridge proposals for the past 29 years it is time to stop spending money on repeat assessments
It is time to listen to the Municipalitys Treasurer who has advised Trent Hills that it must tighten its belt and stop spending public money it doesnt have.

THEREFORE, your petitioners call upon the Municipality of Trent Hills Council to put an end to the wasteful expenditure of public dollars on repeated environmental assessments of a second bridge and to defeat all proposals for a bridge in the area of Second Street, Campbellford.
