Restore Our Wages of $0.20 per Search as ChaCha Text Guides

We, the undersigned, are independently contracted as Text Guides for ChaCha and are outraged at the current pay decrease from $0.20 to $0.10 per search unless 300 searches are done in the previous week. Since each quality search takes 2-3 minutes to complete, a requirement of 300 quality searches per week to be able to be paid what we were already making would mean a required 10-15 hours per week doing searches. Although advertised as a way of rewarding the "Top Guides," it is essentially a punishment for everyone who doesn't have this kind of time. Part of the reason we became guides was because of the relaxed policy of being able to log on to do searches as much or as little as we wish. The $0.20 per text policy is already too low to sustain a comfortable living and most of us have other means of income to accommodate for this. Since we have other jobs, the new pay policy would require too much dedicated time to a part-time second job. At $0.20 per text, being a ChaCha Text Guide was already too low to be used as a primary means of income. At $0.10 per text, it is not even worth our time at all. Making $0.10 per search, and taking the already rushed 2-3 minutes per search, would result in only $2 to $3 per hour! This is an absolute slap in our faces after all the training and dedication we have already put into making ChaCha a refutable, reliable search engine.

Our lives do not depend on your company, but, as you know, the life of your company does depend on us. We demand the respect we once had and a restoration of our previous unattested $0.20 per search. Until then we will refrain from performing any searches as ChaCha Text Guides. Let us know via email as soon as you have restored our expected $0.20 per search.
