Sub: Immediate Grant of Bail To Chattrey Subba, Saran Dewan, Kumar Chettri, Shyam Bahadur Karki, Bijay Chettri & Gunjay Lama

Madame,

I would like to appeal for your kind attention to the case of Chattrey Subba and above named alleged co-accused who are denied their basic right to justice in the form of pronouncement of judicial verdict or grant of bail.

They are currently lodged in Jalpaiguri Central Jail (West Bengal, India) and are still serving as an under trial prisoner for more than past seven years.

The above named under trial prisoner jailed since past seven years with no sign of early justice in the form of pronouncement of judicial verdict or bail, have broken down all the safeguards of guarantee of decency of human life provided by Indian law.

I request you to deliberate on what would be the impact of seven years in prison (as under trial prisoner) with no guarantee of how many more years to await for justice. I suppose it is potent enough to make healthy people literally insane.

Nothing can make up for their lost time but your stern steps can certainly change the weak and vulnerable's destiny and time to come.
