Protect the Shenandoah |
To: Clarke County Board of SupervisorsWe, the undersigned, do hereby request the Planning and Zoning Department and elected Supervisors of Clarke County, Virginia, to uphold and enforce, without exception or delay, the Mountain Land Use Plan as adopted in June 2005, as well as the Erosion and Sediment Control Laws and Regulations of the Commonwealth of Virginia. In particular, as they apply to ongoing damage to the Shenandoah River, which has been designated a "State Protected Scenic River", and the streams which feed into it. We request immediate enforcement of the above cited laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the expeditious filing of a Clarke County Land Disturbance Permit, in connection with documented violations occurring on two parcels of land which are currently owned by James D. Turner and R. C. Fields, aka Huntfish L.C., and are referenced in Clarke County Tax Maps as parcels #31 A 19 and #31 A 20.
Sincerely,
