We are petitioning a change to Article 2 of the International Bill of Human Rights.

Article 2 defines the basic principle of equality and non discrimination in terms of rights and fundamental freedoms. The article forbids "distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

In doing such, Article 2 declares equal rights, without bias based on the fundamentals of human life. However, this article lacks the protection against one distinction crucial in society today: discrimination based on sexual preference.

By failing to acknowledge prejudice based on sexuality, the article is distinctly excluding a large portion of todays population. Thus, the article is denying such people their natural rights and therefore, lessening the importance of these freedoms in society and in the world.

Attached are signatures in support of our petition to alter Article 2 of the International Bill of Human Rights to prohibit discrimination based on sexual preference.

Please consider the importance and the significance of this modification.
