Close Sellafield Nuclear Plant

We call on you to shut down Sellafield. Nuclear should not be the way of the future. The Irish Sea is the most polluted sea in the world and the number of people with cancer and other such illnesses has increased dramatically on the east coast of Ireland, some of which is only 60 miles from Sellafield. You cannot tell us that this plant is safe. There have been too many accidents, and they are only the ones we know about. Plus there is also a risk of terrorist attacks.

You cannot give us excuses such as it will take years to shut it down. If it will take years then the solution is to begin now. One reactor will not do it. It all needs to go. The people of the past have suffered. Do you want the people of the future to continue this suffering?

This petition is not the beginning. It is in continuation of a previous petition which collected 40,794 signatures. These signatures can be viewed on http://equinoxireland.20m.com. Sellafield is a major threat for too many reasons. We want this plant shut down.
