Block Yecke's Confirmation

To:  Minnesota State Senate

Cheri Pierson Yecke has misrepresented our schools to the public and behaved in an unprofessional manner. Her record of success in Virginia is questionable at best. Her lack of understanding and support of Minnesota's schools is appalling. She is forcing Minnesota into a flawed model of lower achievement by implementing programs from states like Arizona and Texas. Cheri Pierson Yecke has politicized her position, polarized the state on education issues, and done a disservice to our Governor and our state. For all of these reasons, we respectfully ask that the Minnesota Senate block the confirmation of Cheri Pierson Yecke as the Commissioner of Education.
