Make Java a first-tier language on Mac OS X |
To: Steve Jobs, Apple ComputerThe Mac development platform currently struggles to attract a large number of software developers because of its proprietary nature. The Cocoa libraries are best accessed from Objective-C and are merely bridged to all other languages including Java. By signing this petition, you are showing your support for the conversion of all Cocoa libraries to Java so that Java developers are on equal footing with their Objective-C counterparts. Currently there are millions of Java developers, the same cannot be said of Objective-C developers. This is stifling development of software on the Mac platform and is yet another barrier to its acceptance as a mainstream business platform. The results of this petition will be sent to Steve Jobs and if possible presented to him at WWDC 2004.
Sincerely,
