Compensation for Those Found Innocent

To:  California State Legislative Body

We the undersigned in response to the many unfounded and unreasonable arrests and prosecutions of innocent citizens do petition the following:

That the State of California pass a law requiring compensation for innocent defendants. When said defendants are found not guilty by a jury of their peers.

Damages to include but not restricted to lost bail, attorney’s fees and costs, and lost out of pocket expenses resulting from prosecution of the innocent party.
