We the undersigned would like to submit a plan to continue the betterment of our futures. We need our Cosmetology program at West Valley Occupational Center, along with other programs that have been seriously affected by the recent budget cuts, to continue. Since our night class program has been cancelled, we will not be able to continue the completion of 1600 hours required to graduate.
If funding does not permit after the 1600 hours have been completed for the currently enrolled students, the whole program should be temporarily closed until further notice.
Please review the history of West Valley Occupational Center and see that our school has been successful in training their students to get jobs in their focused fields that stimulate the economy, especially the Cosmetology program with a 99\% graduating rate.
If the Cosmetology program no longer continues and the current students will not be able to graduate, not only will our own futures be affected, but the futures of our families. Most of the students in the night class cannot afford to be moved into the morning class or other Cosmetology schools (costing about $18,000) due to the fact that most have day jobs and families to support with those jobs.
Please consider all the above and think about the lives of students, teachers, and families this budget cut has been taken affect on.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned
