Call for immediate nation-wide strike against Canadian government proposal on banning the right to strike |
To: Worker OrganizationsIn the economic update that the Canadian government introduced on November 27th, it was announced that the Federal civil service will have the no right to strike for two years.
The right to strike is a fundamental freedom that should never be curtailed. This is to stand up to the Canadian government and let them know that Canadians will not allow the working class to bear the brunt of any economic crises.
Stand up against this assault on Workers rights:
We are asking our Unions/Worker organizations to organize a nation-wide strike on Monday, December 1, 2008, in opposition to the Canadian government proposal to suspend one of our fundamental freedom.
In case they were not able too, and in places there is no Union/Worker organization, members of the workplace could join the nation-wide strike, through a collective decision via a general assembly of workers.Sincerely,
