Petition: to CSX Corporation
We as model railroaders, railfans, historians and the general public, request that the CSX Corporation stop claiming rights to collect royalties on merchandise, public mention or any other use the marks, names or related paraphernalia relating to the New York Central Railroad or other subsidiaries or predecessors the system. The CSX Corporation is not related in any corporate manner to the New York Central Corporation. The New York Central Corporation ceased to exist at 12:00 AM on February 1st, 1968, when it merged with the Pennsylvania Railroad, to form the Pennsylvania New York Central Transportation Company, eventually through re-naming, and consolidations of various companies within what ultimately became the Penn Central Company. The Penn Central Company left the railroad business on April 1st, 1976, when the railroad became part of Conrail. However, parent Penn Central Company continued until March 1994, when it became American Premier Underwriters, now part of the American Financial Group. Because the New York Central Corporation can trace its path to the American Financial Group, and not the CSX Corporation; Therefore, we the undersigned request that CSX stop collecting royalties on anything related to the New York Central.
