Curacao Mangrove Protection

Mangrove areas are...

A joy to the eye
Our coastal evergreens
Our nature parks where birds rest and nest,
as do many more animals
Breeding places for marine organisms and many coral fish
that sustain coral reefs in their later life
Filter sand and sediments coming from the land,
protecting coral reefs from damage
Walls that break strong stormy waves
Store carbon dioxide that causes climate change,
and return oxygen that we live on

all this beauty and benefits
are worthwhile for a good life


We call on the Island Government of Curacao to protect the mangroves by law and reforest mangroves where they have been removed
