Texas Sovereignty Commission

To:  Governor of the State of Texas

We, the citizens of Texas, petition the Governor of the State of Texas to establish a Texas Sovereignty Commission charged with the responsibility to Study and Prepare for the Assertion of Our Individual and State Rights under the Constitution of the United States of America.

I, the undersigned, agree with each and all of the following, and further certify that:
(a) I am a legal resident of the State of Texas,
(b) I am 18 years of age or older,
(c) I am legally qualified to vote in the State of Texas:

1. Our federal government is taking us in the wrong direction,

2. Our federal government has failed to protect our borders and to stop illegal immigration,

3. Our federal government is too big, taxes too much, spends too much, and has placed an unconscionable debt burden on future generations,

4. Our federal government has usurped and invalidated the rights guaranteed by the Constitution to its states and its citizens, and which were the original intent of our Founders,

5. The Articles and Amendments to the Constitution specifically address those rights as being retained by the people and by the several States, and therefore,

We demand that the Governor of the State of Texas immediately establish a Texas Sovereignty Commission charged to make nonbinding recommendations for means to reclaim these rights including the following:

a. Joint Resolution (asking for restoration of 10th Amendment rights),

b. Interposition (demanding redress of grievances with the threat of specific further action if demand isn’t answered acceptably),

c. Nullification (exercising the state’s right to declare certain federal
laws or regulations null and void), and

d. Potential issues and preparatory measures if—as a last resort—a peaceful, negotiated separation from the union be deemed necessary as the only means to reclaim and secure these rights.
